I've made no secret of how awful I felt things were in Vermont - it was definitely not my favorite place to live. Vermont is beautiful, though, and I do tell everyone it's a wonderful place to visit. That is until this past Sunday when Hurricane Irene hit Vermont with a vengeance and caused record flooding that destroyed many roads, bridges, homes, and businesses. I didn't really follow Irene until a member of our ward in Vermont posted a picture of another member's home, and my heart broke. Then I started looking at more pictures of the damage in Vermont. This bridge, the Taftsville bridge, is still standing, but it really shows the power of the water.

I strongly suggest checking out the
Facebook Album. It's terrifying what Mother Nature is capable of. And for our friends in Vermont - our thoughts and prayers are with you. We hope you are safe.
