Last week was Casey's most intense finals week, so I left town. I went to the Utah-place to visit friends. Rather than doing a crazy whirl-wind trip visiting everyone I knew, I saw and spent time with my closest friends that I keep in closest contact with. It was so nice to be around my friends who have known me for years, love me and respect me, and support me no matter what. I have a few really good friends in Oklahoma outside of my family, but that doesn't take away from how much I miss my Utah friends.
It's generally amazing to me how quickly time passes. Mike and Jess have two kiddos now and have been married over 4 years. Lynds and Ty have a 2-month old who is beautiful and happy. Kass is in the process of changing jobs after several years in the same place. Hali is finished with grad school and just started her first "adult" job (it's not really her first - it's her first school counseling job). Hillary-friend lives in the wrong state and I miss her being in the OK place with me, but she's trying to figure out her school plans. Chels and Spence are doing school/work. (He's doing his PhD, she's working on her internship). Chels and Spence also took me to the gym with them and kicked my butt - those two are insane when it comes to working out (which I mean in a good way because they both look like supermodels).
It was a busy week full of fun, food, Temple Square, and my bestest friends. Of course, being me, I didn't take any pictures. Not one. (dumb, right?) And it was also so nice to come home to my husband, my pets, and my bed. (It was not nice to come home to that crazy pile of laundry!!)
And, of course, the cantata and nativity are finally finished, and it was amazing to play for 4 performances this year. By the end of, my arms and fingers were ready to fall off, but it is always a wonderful way to be reminded of the true meaning of Christmas and our Savior's birth.
